Michael Phelps is the greatest Olympian and the greatest athlete of all times. He is also known as the most decorated Olympian of all times. Decorated means decorated by medals and mostly gold medals .

1) Remove the word ' no ' from your dictionary.

Michael Phelps has the mindset that nothing is impossible and that he can achieve everything that he wants if he puts the right amount of effort in it . This makes him unafraid to set big goals and achieve them.

2) Set goals and write them down.

Whenever Michael Phelps wants to achieve something he writes his goals in a diary and he sticks the written goal everywhere so that he can see the goals as many times as possible. Then he makes the plan and starts expecting it.

Michael used to write which world record he wants to break in what time ,then plan it and then break the world record.

3) Set small goals that takes you to your big goals and daily improvement.

Michael divides his big goals into small goals which he can achieve within a day or a week . He always has the target that everyday he has to improve in a certain way.

4) Extreme work ethic and consistency.

The hard work which Michael did for Beijing Olympic , people used to call him mad . To achieve 8 gold medals in the olympic mark spitz worked 8 hours everyday for 5 years while Michael worked 12 hours a day for 5 years without missing a single day.

Because he was improving so much everyday he did not take a break on any day . This is the consistency and hard work which makes him great.

5) Visualization and affirmation.Michael used to give auto suggestions to himself. He used to say positive statements in his mind that he can achieve his goals , he is the fastes swimmer and etc . These affirmation boosted his confidence and subconsciously made him more focused.

He visualised that he has achieved his goals , he imagined that he is winning the race . These visualisation motivated him to work more hard and increased his chances of winning.

Now Michael Phelps inspires and helps other athletes in the field of swimming and also runs a company.
