Dhvani Bhanushali is all set to present her new song Mehendi, which is a perfect fit for the upcoming Navratri festival. The music video, which releases today, features actor Gurfateh Pirzada opposite her and is set against the backdrop of the festival. This is Dhvani’s second Gujarati folk song after Nayan, which was released in 2020. What adds to the peppy, vibrant video is the picturesque City of Lakes, Udaipur, where the song has been shot by director Vibhu Puri. Penned by Priya Saraiya, the music is composed by Lijo George and DJ Chetas, and rendered by Dhvani and Vishal Dadlani.
Like most international pop artistes, Dhvani is releasing the song today on her online channel. She says, “I think this is the beginning of a new journey and I’ve been lucky to have the best people on my side — from Lijo and Chetas, who’ve given me such fabulous songs, to Priya, who is a wonderful writer and Azeem who brought this song together.”
Dhvani says, “I am grateful to have collaborated with Vishal sir, who is the kindest soul and a phenomenal artiste. It was a learning experience for me. The treatment given to the video by Vibhu sir is vibrant and rich. I want to especially thank my father, who has been my true critic and biggest support and the entire team. I hope music aficionados will appreciate and love Mehendi as much as they’ve loved my previous songs.”
About her co-star Gurfateh she says, “He is a delight to work with. I think he has put in so much effort for his first single and it is visible on screen. He was my constant companion for the two days of the shoot, and I hope we get a chance to work together again.”
Gurfateh shares, “I think this music video was absolutely different from the work I’ve done so far, which is what pushed me to do it. Dhvani is a renowned singer who’s proved her worth with the kind of music and fan base she’s built for herself. So, it was totally worth taking the leap. I had a great time shooting for this video.”
All praise for his co-singer, Dhvani, Vishal Dadlani says, “Dhvani is a wonderful person, well brought up and hard-working. I think of her as a member of my own family and have proudly watched her journey to success against all those who doubted her. So, when I was asked to sing with her, I thought it would be a lot of fun, and it was. I’m sure everyone will enjoy the song.”
