The Falcon and the Winter Soldier fame Anthony Mackie is read to appear as a lead in the series adaptation of the Twisted Metal video game. The project comes from Sony Pictures TV and PlayStation Production, as per a report from a source.
In the series, Mackie will depict John Doe, a milkman with no recollection of his past who's given a chance at a better life — if he can send a mysterious parcel across a post-apocalyptic desert.
With the assistance of a trigger-happy car thief, he’ll face barbarian marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, containing an absurd clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Twisted Metal is established on an original idea by Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Michael Jonathan Smith will inscribe and executive produce the series along with Reese, Wernick, Will Arnett and Marc Forman.
Mackie was most recently starred in the Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, in which he returned with his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) role of Sam Wilson aka The Falcon.
He be will next seen in Marvel Studio's Captain America 4.
