What, Dhoni to Lead India in ICC T20 Worldcup? BCCI Announces Squad:

Yeah, you heard it right! Indian former captain and wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is going to lead Indian team as mentor in the upcoming ICC T20 Worldcup happening in UAE as substitute venue to India due to Covid protocols this October.

BCCI in a twitter announcement declared India’s squad which includes some young players with Indian star cricketers. Virat Kohli will lead the team as captain while Rohit Sharma as Vice-captain. KL Rahul will be India’s first choice opener as team excludes Dhawan. India’s middle order will be consisted of Kohli, H Pandya, Pant and most likely Suryakumar Yadav.

India included five spin options with Ashwin, Jadeja, Axar Patel, R Chahar and V Chakravarthy while excludes reliable spin options over few years, Yuzi Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Bumrah, B Kumar and Md. Shami will be India’s frontline pacers.

The real treat for cricket and especially Dhoni fans will be Dhoni’s appearance as a mentor in the team. Dhoni who has won all the three ICC trophies is India’s one of the most successful captain and widely known as the sharpest brain in world cricket.

Dhoni who retired from International cricket last year in the August will now be the part of team as mentor while it is not clear whether Ravi Shastri will be head coach or not as Shastri’s contract is near to end this year. Soon in few days all the conceptions will be clear.
