6th September will be a special day which will go down in the history of Indian cinema at the box office when Sushant Singh Rajput gave two biggest hits of his career – Shuddh Desi Romance with Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari directed Chhichhore with Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma and Tahir Bhasin. Directed by debutante Maneesh Sharma, Shuddh Desi Romance was a refreshing take on a confused lover based out of Jaipur. The catchy promo and music along with light-heart romance comedy played well with audience. Sushant Singh Rajput had already impressed everyone with his debut film, Kai Po Che, which also gave Shuddh Desi Romance an edge at the ticket window. The highlights of Shuddh Desi Romance was chemistry between Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra along with Rishi Kapoor who will tickle your funny bone with his marvelous acting. The beautiful location of Jaipur makes the film even more eye-catching.
At the end of the day, the film received positive reviews and turned out to be a “Hit” at the box office, collecting Rs 46.23 crores against a budget of Rs 25 crore.

Chhichhore brought back those beautiful days and did it with aplomb. Chhichhore tells the story of reunion of 7 losers a.k.a friends who meet after 20 years due to an unfortunate circumstance and how they relish the moments spent during their college days. Directed by NiteshTiwari, who co-directed Chillar Party, made Bhoothnath Return and Aamir Khan starrer Dangal, Chhichhore not only meets the expectations from the talented director but surpasses above and beyond it.
Chhichhore opened to a decent response on its first day with Rs 7.32 crore but the word-of-mouth reviews were exceptional which led the film perform strongly in the first week run at Rs 68.83 crores. The second week collections were equally good with Rs 40.47 crores at the box office followed by another amazing Rs 24.23 crore in the third week and Rs 15.300 crore in fourth week, Rs 2.58 crore in the fifth week, Rs 1.20 crore in the sixth week and Rs 55 lakhs in the 7th week, summing up the total to Rs 153.16 crore against a budget of Rs 70 crore.
Chhichhore turned out to be a “Blockbuster” at the box office, making it a highest grossing film of Sushant Singh Rajput beating M.S Dhoni : The Untold Story which collected Rs 133.09 crore.
