England scored 290 runs in their first innings against India’s collapsed till 191 runs on day 1. Now Indian openers are unbeaten after stumps at day 2 on 43 runs.
Indian pacers quitely choked England middle order as they lost their sixth wicket on 151 runs, but Moeen Ali and Ollie Pope defended the side and managed a good stand on field. Ali scored 35 runs while Pope scored 81. Newly added all-rounder Woakes scored an effective fifty.
With all these contributions England scored 290 runs with the lead of 91 runs. At the day end Indian openeres stayed strong and remained wicketless with 43 runs on board.
Now India is trailing by 56 runs and the play will resume tomorrow on day 3.
