England Continue to Dominate in the Second Session of Day 1; India 6 Wickets Down

India loses 6 wickets in the first two sessions, courtesy to choking bowling by England pacers. Virat Kohli Celebrates 27th Fifty.

India got in the another backfoot condition in the first innings of the fourth test match at The Oval cricket ground, England. After losing toss India was invited to bat first by England skipper Joe Root. India’s inform openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul got a well set attacking start but couldn’t manage for much time.

Rohit Sharma got caught by Chris Woakes on 11 while KL Rahul got LBW by Robinson on 17 runs. India’s back to form player Pujara didn’t do well after that knock of 91 in his last inning. Anderson succeeds to trap him behind the wickets.

Indian skipper Kohli had some other plans on the other hand as after Pujara’s wicket Jadeja came in to bat at no. 5 in Rahane’s place. Jadeja is playing more as a batter than a bowling option in the team and maybe management wanted to try something different this time with the positions.

It didn’t go well though as Jadeja got caught on Woakes’ delivery scoring 10 runs. Kohli scored 50 runs but again ‘unfortunate run-machine Kohli’ couldn’t convert a great start into a big one. Kohli got caught behind in Robinson’s over. Following that, struggling Rahane too got caught behind on 4 runs.

Brief Score:

IND 1st Inns: 151-6 (Kohli 50, Rahul 17, Woakes 2-19)
