As Indian cinema halls begin to reopen again after the second wave of coronavirus, more and more movies are declaring their release dates. The latest to appear on the big screen is Ryan Reynolds-starrer Free Guy.
The Shawn Levy directorial is planned to premiere in Indian theatres in English and Hindi on September 17. The movie also features Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi.
Free Guy has Ryan Reynolds portraying the character of an NPC in a video game, who acquires consciousness and begins falling into an existential crisis. The movie has been released overseas and scored 82 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes where the critical agreement reads, “Combining a clever concept, sweet, self-aware humour, and a charming cast, Free Guy is frivolous fun.”
The official summary of Free Guy reads, “Ryan Reynolds stars as a bank teller who discovers he is a background player in an open-world video game and decides to become the hero of his own story—one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way, before it is too late.”
Ryan Reynolds previously posted on Twitter that a sequel of Free Guy has already been accepted to start filming
