Directed by Rumi Jaffrey, Chehra starred Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan starrer did noy meet good reviews which limited its prospect at the box office. Chehra managed to pull in just Rs 50 lakhs on its first day at the ticket window. There was a slight growth on the second day when the crime thriller collected Rs 65 lakhs while Sunday was flat with Rs 75 lakhs, bringing the first weekend total to Rs 1.90 crore.

As per early estimates . the thriller collected somewhere between Rs 40 lakhs on first Monday which is a good hold as compared to Friday, bringing the four days collections to somewhere around Rs 2.30-2.35 crore. The budget of Chehre is 40 Crores (Production Cost: 30 Crore & Prints and Advertising cost: 10 Crores) and has released in 800 screens across India.
Punjabi films have been doing good this year at the box office worldwide which clearly shows that there is a potential market. After stupendous success of Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa starrer Puaada released two week back, another Punjabi film has opened well is Chal Mera Putt 2 starring Amrinder Gill, Simi Chahal, and Garry Sandhu in lead roles.

Chal Mera Putt 2 has opened very well in East Punjab. Surprisingly, the same film had opened in March 2020 when it was halted in between due to the COVID-19 pandemic eventually leading to the first lockdown. Chal Mera Putt 2 collected Rs 2.92 crore at that time with an opening of around Rs 1.24 crore.
Now, Chal Mera Putt 2 was released last week again and took an excellent opening with Rs 1.01 crore on its first day. There was a slight growth on the second day with Rs 1.15 crore while the third day collections was superb with Rs 1.55 crore, summing up the two week collections (2020 and 2021 included) to 6.63 crore. As per early estimates, Chal Mera Putt 2 held well on Monday with Rs 80-90 lakhs, bringing the overall collections to Rs 7.43 - 7.53 crore which is an excellent number.
