There were two significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Phantom and Saurabh Shukla, Radhika Apte and Kunal Kapoor starrer Kaun Kitney Paani Mein. Let us check how these films fared at the box office.
Audience had high hopes from the film Phantom, released in 2015, as it was directed by Kabir Khan who was coming from the grand success of Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan, released same year. Unfortunately, the reviews were not good and the word-of-mouth was negative from the paying audience which turned the movie a “Flop” at the box office, collecting Rs 54.24 crore against a budget of Rs 70 crore.
Kaun Kitney Paani Mein (2015)
Directed by Nila Madhab Panda, who made the National Award winning I am Kalam, Kaun Kitney Paani Mein was never expected to collect money at the box office.
A satire on water scarcity issues predominant in the rural area of India, Kaun Kitney Paani Mein was praised for its unique story-line and fine performances by Saurabh Shukla, Radhika Apte and Kunal Kapoor. The movie never took off and was given the status as “Disaster” at the box office.
