"We are pleased that Mr Spears and his lawyer have today conceded in a filing that he must be removed," the singer's lawyer Mathew Rosengart explained in a message.

Spears, who has affected much of his daughter's liaisons since she underwent a mental health breakdown in 2008, decided to step aside in court statements classified on Thursday.

The 'Toxic' pop celebrity has been pursuing for months to eliminate her father from having any power over her life. A court hearing to talk over the issue had been set for late September in Los Angeles.

Rosengart named the judgment by Jamie Spears "a major victory for Britney Spears and another step toward justice."

Thursday's court record did not clarify when Jamie Spears would relinquish his role in overseeing his daughter's $60 million estates and said that he believes there were no grounds for instantly eliminating or restraining him.

But it added: "Even as Mr Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests."

"Mr Spears intends to work with the court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservatory," the court filing had said.

Britney Spears continues under the care of trained Jodi Montgomery, who manages her medical and personal liaisons. The character of the singer's mental health problems has never been publicly disclosed.

Spears confessed emotionally in June and July against the court-appointed conservatorship, naming it humiliating and nasty and impeaching her father of damaging her life. Spears has not performed since 2018 and has claimed she won't come back to the stage while her father has the power over her livelihood.

The singer, who posts continually on social media, made no sudden reference on Thursday to her father's judgment
to step aside.

Thursday's court statement said Jamie Spears has constantly had his daughter's promising interests at heart and has not compelled her to do anything.

"By her admission, Ms Spears is strong and stands up for what she wants. Mr Spears has tried to do everything in his power to accommodate Ms Spears’ wishes, whether regarding her personal life, family, or career while fulfilling his duties and obligations as a conservator (and) protecting her from others seeking to take advantage of her," the article said.
