India completely dominated England on the day 1 of 2nd test between both the countries. India scored 276 runs losing just 2 wickets, KL Rahul scored 127 while his partner Rohit Sharma scored 83 runs.
Earlier on the toss Joe Root opted ball first, India’s opening duo Rahul and Rohit scored defined partnership of 126 runs in which Sharma missed his hundred, fell short 17 runs while got bowled out by Anderson in the 44th over.
KL Rahul on the other hand played a classy knock of 127 runs and remained not out till the day end. Virat Kohli on the other hand significantly played patience game but fell short to convert the innings into big one, scored 42 runs in 103 balls.
England bowling unit struggled on the very first day, Mark Wood and Sam Curran became most expensive bowlers that too without any wickets. While most experienced bowler Anderson took 2 wickets in 20 overs sparing 52 runs.
Tomorrow, India will look big seeing the conditions and the game top order played today. At the day end Rahul remained not out on 127 runs while Rahane on 1 run in 22 balls.
