Deadpool producer Rob Liefeld may be unable of drawing assuring feet, but he hardly fears getting his own stuck in his mouth. The writer/artist isn’t scared when it comes to expressing his beliefs on the recent state of both the comic book industry and superhero cinema, even when the Merc with a Mouth isn’t entangled.
The latest victim of Liefeld’s wrath is DC after he blew up the firm as “a damaged brand” that’s endured from years of mismanagement. Not only that, but he also announced the company is unhurried years behind Marvel, and while some fans will without any questions strongly oppose those sentiments, it can be agreed that the man has a point.
It should be noted that Liefeld was impressed with James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which crowned the box office and drew broad critical recognition, but still fell short to change his opinion on DC at large. Given below are some of his comments, which may create a ruckus for many comic book fans, but let’s not ignore that the 53-year-old isn’t above giving Kevin Feige and his procedure of the Merc with a Mouth both barrels when the occasion calls for it.

Dubbing DC ‘damaged’ might have gone too far, but, indeed, handling of the shared universe has always been a shambles. It has been eight years or 10 movies since Man of Steel was premiered the DCEU, and yet the myth still hasn’t decided any sort of chronology or density, and the thing fans want to see the most have been cleared under the rug by the studio in the expectations they’ll forget about it eventually.
