The month leading up to Prime Day was Amazon Prime Video India’s best ever in terms of viewership with the highest number of streamers enjoying the line-up on the Service

Mumbai, India, August 2,2021 - Amazon Prime Video premiered the Tamil period sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai as part of its Prime Day lineup on 22nd July. Directed by Pa Ranjith, the Arya starrer movie was applauded by the audience across the globe and received rave reviews from the critics. With the highest number of streamers enjoying the content on the service, Amazon Prime Video India saw its best ever viewership in the month leading-up to Prime Day, with 3200+ towns and cities in India and in over 150+ countries and territories globally watching south movies, including Sarpatta Parambarai.

Set in the 70s, the film brought out the unseen side of North Madras along with familiarising the audience across 150 countries and territories with the various boxing clans of Madras. Along with Arya, the film also stars Pasupathy, John Vijay, Santhosh Prathap, John Kokken, Sanchana Natarajan and Dushara Vijayan in prominent roles.
