Belgium beat India 5-2 in the first men's hockey semifinal, thanks to a hat-trick by Alexander Hendrickx, with Dohmen scoring the fifth goal in the final minute to seal it. Belgium enter their second consecutive Olympic final, while India will play Germany or Australia for bronze. Harmanpreet and Mandeep scored for India.

Mandeep Singh and Harmanpreet Singh scored for India while Alexander Hendrickx scored a remarkable hat-trick for Belgium.

"It's a sad day, because we lost the semis. But still we have a match left, so we will prepare for that bronze-medal game now. We made some big mistakes in the circle and also the PCs. The other semifinal will be played between Australia and Germany later today. In wrestling, India's Sonam Malik lost to Mongolia's Bolortuya Khurelkhuu in the women's Freestyle 62kg 1/8 Final. Sonam's opponent lost her quarterfinal bout hence, ending her hopes of making it to the repechage round to fight for bronze.
