In the 3rd and last ODI of the series against India Sri Lanka manage to avoid cleansweep. In the low scoring and reduced due to rain match Sri Lanka beat India by 3 wickets and 8 overs.

At the toss India opted to bat first while made 6 changes in their playing XI. In which Navdeep Saini joined with 5 other debutants in the team. Sanju Samson, Rahul Chahar, Nitish Rana, Chetan Sakaria & K Gotham debuted for India in ODIs.

Sri Lanka definitely wanted to win this match as losing against 5 debutants 3 freshers and only 3 experience players would be very low class for them. In the first innings Rain started pouring at the 21st over as a result match got reduced by 47 overs for both the sides.

Indian opener Dhawan got his wicket early but Shaw and Samson hold the strings in the start. Both missed their fifties though as Shaw got LBW by Lanka captain Shanaka on 49 while Samson got caught on 46.

To continue the innings Manish Pandey and Hardik Pandya again failed to deliver it in a big knocks being an experienced players of the team. But Suryakumar Yadav scored some valuable runs in the middle (40). Indian debutants Rana and Gotham failed to make any big runs while Navdeep Saini and Rahul Chahar dominated innings in the end but India got all out in 43rd over itself.

In the second innings, Fernando impressed the critics as he scored 76 off 98 balls while his partner Rajapaksha scored 65 off 56 balls. With the likes of Sakaria and Pandya India made a short comeback in middle overs. But the newly presented bowling department failed to defend the estimated runs.
