Due to heavy rainfall wide areas in Maharashtra are continuously witnessing shocking and unusual circumstances of land slide, building damages and flood situations. Recently another incident came into light of Taliye village Mahad, where land slide took place yesterday on Thursday around 4 PM.
In this land slide, major damage happened as 30-32 houses went under mud with over 70 people too. Local citizens and rescue teams with NDRF teams have succeed to put out 38 dead bodies till now where officials said no alive person has been found by teams from the land slide place, only bodies are there.
Government officials and local people are claiming more 40 people are missing and still in the mud area in the village. After lot of delaying and efforts rescue and three NDRF teams have reached the place at 1 PM today after 18 hours of the incident. All the three teams are now continuously working and doing rescue operations with the help of local citizens.
According to the administration, due to the waterlogged highway and landslides at a few locations, the teams were unable to reach Mahad since Thursday morning. The official said that teams were sent using boats and the rescue operation has been started.
“The helicopters of navy are making round in the region for the rescue operation. However, they are facing issues locating those who are stuck. We appeal to those who are stranded in the Mahad area to come on the terrace so that the helicopters can notice and rescue them by airlifting,” said an official from the Raigad disaster management team.
