IMD issues Red Alert in Mumbai as Heavy Rainfalls Lashes MMR Region; Waterlogging Hits Train Services

After a brief spell of reduced intensity, the rains picked up the pace again in Mumbai, causing inundation in some areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a red alert in the financial capital yesterday as heavy rains lashed the city during the last night and continued today morning after a major thunderstorm.

Local trains are suspended to slow line in many stations of Central, Western and Harbour line. At 15:00 PM IST, trains between Thane to Diva stopped due to heavy rainfall while at 13:00 PM services were cautious between Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg.
