There were bunch of new releases at the box office this week. After a poor response, the collections of The Tashkent Files, Manje Bistre 2 and Hollywood super-hero flick, HellBoy showed growth on the second day at the box office.
The only pivotal release in Bollywood this week was the hard-hitting drama – The Tashkent Files. Starring actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Pankaj Tripathi, Naseeruddin Shah and Pallavi Joshi, The Tashkent Files revolves around the mysterious death of India’s 2nd Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Due to poor reviews by the critics, The Tashkent Files opened to Rs 45 lakhs on its first day. The Punjabi film, Manje Bistre 2 opened better than the Bollywood films collecting Rs 2.20 crores. As per early trade, Manju Bistre 2 collected Rs 2.75 crores on its second day, bringing the 2 days collections to Rs 4.95 crores.
The Hollywood super-hero flick, Hellboy, got off to a poor start at the box office. Panned by critics, Neil Marshall directed Hellboy still collected just Rs 1 crore on its first day at the box office, followed by Rs 1.35 crores on the second day, summing up the total to Rs 2.35 crores.
