The Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari is unstoppable at the box office as it crossed the Kartik Aaryan and Kirti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi to become the 5th highest grossing film of 2019.
Kesari broke the record of becoming the biggest opening film of 2019 with an eye-popping Rs 21.06 on its first day at the ticket window even though few theaters were closed due to Holi festival celebration. Based on the true story of Battle of Saragarhi, which saw 21 soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of the British Army fighting against 10,000 Afghanistan tribes in 1897, Kesari dropped to Rs 16.75 crores on its day 2 due to normal working day but the earnings picked up on Saturday with a solid Rs 18.75 crores followed by another mind-blowing Rs 21.51 crores. Kesari dropped around 50% on its first Monday with Rs 8.25 crores which was reasonable.
Kesari Fifth Day Box Office Collection Report
As per early trade report, Kesari dropped slightly to 12% on its first Tuesday as compared to Monday which was a good hold. The war-drama is doing extremely well in places like Rajasthan and Bihar and collected somewhere between Rs 7-7.50 crores on its first Tuesday , bringing the overall collections to a amazing Rs 93.25-93.75 crores. The earnings were good enough to beat the romantic-drama, Luka Chuppi, which collected Rs 90 crores (approx).
