Box Office Report – Badla, Luka Chuppi And Total Dhamaal Slows Down Due To IPL Matches

The Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan’s Badla, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon romantic-drama, Luka Chuppi and Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit starrer Total Dhamaal slowed down at the box office due to IPL cricket matches.

Badla remained unaffected at the ticket window, especially at the city multiplexes which is contributing enormously to the revenue. Badla had a very good first week collection with Rs 38 crores while the mystery-thriller continued to perform exceedingly well in the second week, collecting Rs 29.32 croes. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer dropped on the third Friday with Rs 2.07 crores due to release of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari. The earnings picked up on Saturday with Rs 2.65 crores followed by Rs 2.75 crores on Sunday.

Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Badla dropped significantly with Rs 1.25 crores on third Monday, raising the total to Rs 76.04 crores. The budget of Badla is Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).

The Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon romantic drama, Luka Chuppi, grew well at the box office on its fourth Saturday despite the new releases and IPL Cricket match. With a fabulous first week with Rs 53.70 crores followed by an amazing second week with Rs 21.54 crores. Due to no major releases, Luka Chuppi did well in the third week with Rs 11.75 crores.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Luka Chuppi did decent business of Rs 2.39 crores. The romantic-comedy has slowed down and minted Rs 32 lakhs on 4th Monday, bringing the 25 days total to Rs 89.70 crores. The budget of Luka Chuppi is Rs 25 crores (Production Cost: 18 Crores, Prints & Advertising Cost: 7 Crores).
