Despite the opening IPL match on Saturday, Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari grew well on Saturday, inching towards to the 60 crores milestone at the box office.
Met with fabulous reviews, Kesari opened to an eye-popping Rs 21.06 on its first day at the ticket window even though few theaters were closed in UP and Bihar due to Holi festival celebration. Based on the true story of Battle of Saragarhi, which saw 21 soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of the British Army fighting against 10,000 Afghanistan tribes in 1897, Kesari dropped by around 20% to Rs 16.75 crores on its day 2.
Kesari Third Day Box Office Collection Report
As per early trade report, Kesari grew further to around 25% and collections again picked up to somewhere between Rs 19-20 crores on its first Saturday, bringing the overall collections to a amazing Rs 56.7-57.7 crores.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari, stars Parineeti Chopra and will have 4-days extended weekend to rake in moolah. Released in 3600 screens in India, Kesari is produced by Karan Johar, under the banner for Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, Azure Entertainment and Zee Studios, Kesari is made on a budget of Rs 80 crores.
