The Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan’s Badla, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon romantic-drama, Luka Chuppi and Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit starrer Total Dhamaal got impacted this week, thanks to the big release in form of Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari.
After Badla had a very good first week, the mystery-thriller continued to perform exceedingly well in the second week, collecting Rs 29.32 croes. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer dropped on the third Friday with Rs 1.55 crores, minting Rs 68.87 crores after 15 days.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the budget of Badla is Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).
The Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon as Luka Chuppi refused to slow down. With a fabulous first week with Rs 53.70 crores followed by an amazing second week with Rs 21.54 crores. Due to no major releases, Luka Chuppi did well in the third week with Rs 11.75 crores.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Luka Chuppi collected Rs 55 lakhs on fourth Friday, raising the 22 days total collection to an eye-popping Rs 87.49 crores. The budget of Luka Chuppi is Rs 25 crores (Production Cost: 18 Crores, Prints & Advertising Cost: 7 Crores).
Total Dhamaal is unstoppable at the box office and is on the road to cross Rs 150 crores milestone. The comedy-drama had an amazing first week collections with Rs 94.55 crores. Despite the release of Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya, Total Dhamaal performed well in its second week, collecting Rs 38.05 crores. There were again two big releases – Badla and Captain Marvel but Total Dhamaal remained grounded with Rs 13.11 crores in third week. Since there were no major releases, Total Dhamaal collected Rs 5.05 in its fourth weekend.
The comedy-drama dipped to Rs 30 lakhs on 5th Friday, raising the 29 days collections to an amazing Rs 153.66 crores. The budget of Indra Kumar directed film is Rs 100 crores and will touch Rs 155 crores soon.
