The Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan’s Badla is unstoppable at the box office as it crossed the lifetime collections of Pink to become the second highest grossing film of Big B and highest grossing film of Taapsee Pannu as lead.
After Badla had a very good first week, the mystery-thriller continued to perform exceedingly well in the second week. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ended its first week run with a strong Rs 38 crores. Due to the absence of major releases last Friday, Badla grabbed the opportunity and showed a strong earnings in the second weekend with Rs 18.97 crores.
Due to strong word of mouth reviews, Badla did an excellent business in the weekdays, bringing the second week collections to a magnificent Rs 67.05 crores and crossing the lifetime collections of court-room dramaPink, which made Rs 65.39 crores. Badla become the second highest grossing film of Big B after Piku and highest grossing film of Taapsee Pannu.
Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, the budget of Badla is Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).
