First Week Box Office Report – Badla Takes Over Captain Marvel At The Ticket Window

From the team of Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan, Badla has eventually crossed the daily collections of super hero film, Captain Marvel, at the box office.

Badla is showing no sign of stopping at the box office as it has taken over the weekday collections of Captain Marvel. After doing a good business on the first day, Badla showed strong legs at the ticket window on the second day. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu starrer opened to a very good response on first day with Rs 5.04 crores. Thanks to the glowing reviews and positive feedback, Badla grew on the second day with Rs 8.55 crores. The mystery-thriller drama had a very good Sunday with Rs 9.61 crores. Badla held well on Monday with Rs 3.75 crores while Tuesday was better than Monday with Rs 3.85 crores. There was hardly drop on Wednesday with Rs 3.55 crores.

As per early estimates, Badla held well on Thursday, collecting around Rs 3.15 crores and bringing the first week total to Rs 37.50 crores. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Badla has crossed its budget of Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).

Captain Marvel had a great first week as it opened to a solid response with Rs 40.71 crores in the first weekend itself. The earnings dropped on Monday with Rs 5.25 crores while Tuesday slid with Rs 4.50 crores and Wednesday was Rs 3.75 crores.

As per early estimates, the super hero film showed another drop further on Thursday with Rs 3.05 crores, bringing the first week total collection to Rs 57.26 crores which is sensational.
