The Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon romantic-drama, Luka Chuppi is performing better than expected while Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, Riteish Deshmukh, Boman Irani and Sanjay Mishra starrer Total Dhamaal is minting money at the lower levels.
The Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi ended the second week on grand note. After a handsome first week collections with Rs 53.70 crores, Luka Chuppi performed very well in its second week. In spite of new releases- Badla and Marvel’s Captain Marvel and a crucial cricket matches, Luke Chuppi collected Rs 13.66 crores in its second weekend.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Luka Chuppi raked in Rs 2.05 crores on second Monday while the collections on Tuesday was better with Rs 2.07 crores. The earnings remained steady on Wednesday with Rs 1.96 crores.
As per early estimates, the collections dipped slightly to Rs 1.84 crores on Thursday, bringing the 14 days total collection to an eye-popping Rs 75.28 crores. The budget of Luka Chuppi is Rs 25 crores (Production Cost: 18 Crores, Prints & Advertising Cost: 7 Crores).
Total Dhamaal is unstoppable at the box office and is on the road to cross Rs 150 crores milestone. The comedy-drama had an amazing first week collections with Rs 94.55 crores. Despite the release of Luka Chuppi and Sonchiriya, Total Dhamaal performed well in its second week, collecting Rs 38.05 crores. There were again two big releases – Badla and Captain Marvel but Total Dhamaal remained grounded with Rs 8.41 crores in the third weekend.
The earnings dipped on third Monday to Rs 1.40 crores followed by Rs 1.15 crores on third Tuesday and Rs 1.10 crores on third Wednesday. The collections showed further decline on third Thursday with Rs 1 crores, raising the 21 days collections to an amazing Rs 145.66 crores. The budget of Indra Kumar directed film is Rs 100 crores and will continue to build the momentum at the mass circuits across India.
