Wednesday Box Office Report – Badla Is A Dark Horse While Captain Marvel Continues To Decline

The Sujoy Ghosh, Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan collaboration Badla is keeping momentum at the ticket window while the Hollywood super hero flick, Captain Marvel, showed further decline on first Wednesday at the box office.

Badla is showing a solid trending over the weekdays. After doing a good business on the first day, Badla showed strong legs at the ticket window on the second day. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu starrer opened to a very good response on first day with Rs 5.04 crores. Thanks to the glowing reviews and positive feedback, Badla grew on the second day with Rs 8.55 crores. The mystery-thriller drama had a very good Sunday with Rs 9.61 crores. Badla held well on Monday with Rs 3.75 crores while Tuesday was better than Monday with Rs 3.85 crores.

As per early estimates, Badla had a strong Wednesday, collecting around Rs 3.45 crores and bringing the total to Rs 34.25 crores. Produced by Shah Rukh Khan, under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, Badla has crossed its budget of Rs 25 crores (all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 16 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 8 Crore).

Thanks to the solid promotions, Marvel brand name and exciting trailer, Hollywood superhero big-wig,Captain Marvel, opened to a solid response with Rs 40.71 crores in the first weekend itself. The earnings dropped on Monday with Rs 5.25 crores while Tuesday slid with Rs 4.50 crores.

As per early estimates, the super hero film showed another drop on Wednesday with Rs 4 crores, bringing the 6 days total collection to Rs 54.46 crores which is sensational.
