Not Cool : The Splurge Of Unwanted Sex Scenes And Forced Nudity In Bollywood Is Cringe Worthy?

Very often we come across s*x scenes and unwanted n*dity in otherwise family-friendly films and web-series which are so unnecessary to the plot and are extremely cringe-worthy! Read on…

Bipasha Basu & Karan Singh Grover almost had their honeymoon at the sets of a Bollywood film.

Over the last decade and the years gone by, Bollywood has seen countless films, web-series and TV-series which are otherwise family-friendly but out of a sudden, there will be a scene which has either n*dity/s*x scenes or any such explicit content which is totally unnecessary and has nothing to do with the plot of the film to movie it forward. From films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne to Kurbaan to Hate Story, we have witnessed so  much that it would be impossible to pen down how cringe-worthy it seems to see all this onscreen when it has nothing to do with where the film is progressing and it was just done or added to spice up things.

5 Lesser Known Facts About Sacred Games Actress Rajshri Deshpande!

The actress Rajshri Deshpande has been receiving flak from people for her n*de scenes in the latest Netflix series Sacred Games!

Even in the recently acclaimed web-series, Sacred Games, in which the main subject and conflict had to do with the central characters, Sartaj Singh and Ganesh Gaitonde essayed by Saif Ali Khan and Nawazzudin Siddiqui respectively, the series has a lot of n*dity and useless s*x-scenes just to hike the TRP. In a film like say Salaam Namaste or Parched, it is okay to show either long love-making scenes or n*dity because either they are showing that the character gets pregnant or there is either marital rape happening. Then, it is fine and easily understood as they HAVE to show it and also, we don’t have anything against nudity or sex scenes or have a regressive mindset but when it is not required, it is simply cheap and are forced into the scripts for the pleasure of actors!

And many times, these scenes are cut by the Censor Board if they find it explicit or not required and there have been many instances when the whole film has not got a release like Water or Bandit Queen which have been highly acclaimed films. So who is the culprit here and what is the main issue? It is either the parameters set by the Censor Board on what is okay and what is not or it’s the fantasy of film-makers or actors which they just satisfy to pull that class of crowd to the audience which actually falls prey for the bold scenes.

On the concluding note, we will just say that as it is the 21st century and on-screen kissing is no more a taboo but a normal affair now, the excess clutter and explicit content can be easily avoided when it is not the call of the story-telling and the narration.
