The opening of March will be seeing the clash of two very different films – Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpai and Ashotush Rana starrer dacoit-drama, Sonchiriya, and Karthik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon romantic-drama, Luka Chuppi. Let us see which film has the potential to make it big at the box office on its first day.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, who made some amazing films like Ishqiya and Udta Punjab, Sonchiriya has an interesting premises about the state of Chambal, Madhya Pradesh. Sonchiriya has a very good star cast comprising of Sushant Singht Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpai, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey with a gripping trailer. Releasing in 2000 screens across, Sonchiriya can start with Rs 2-3 crores and will completely depend on the word-of-mouth reviews.
Probably, one of the most awaited release of the season, Luka Chuppi stars Kartik Aaryan, who is the current youth icon along with every guy’s crush, Kriti Sanon. While Kartik Aaryan is coming off from the success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Kirti Sanon was last seen in immensely likable, Bareily Ki Barfi. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the trailer of Luka Chuppi is looking interesting with adequate support from Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Vinay Pathak.
Promoted as makers of Stree, Luka Chuppi is releasing in 3000 screens and should open somewhere between Rs 6-8 crores and will again depend on the feedback from the paying audience.
