The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy held well on 2nd Monday at the ticket window while the Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari starrer URI-The Surgical Strike inches close to the lifetime of Simmba at the box office.
URI The Surgical Strike
After crossing the lifetime collections of Salman Khan starrer Kick, URI Surgical Strike kept its momentum in the 7th weekend. Inspite of clashing with Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna starrer The Accidental Prime Minister, URI – The Surgical Strike collected a solid Rs 70.94 crores in first week. Thanks to the exceptional word-of-mouth reviews, URI hardly dropped in the second week and collected Rs 62.54 crores followed by Rs 37.34 crores in third week, Rs 29.02 crores in fourth week, Rs 18.95 crores in fifth week and Rs 11.59 in the 6th week.
URI dropped due to the release of Ajay Devgan starrer Total Dhamaal and minted Rs 70 lakhs on 43rd day, 1.51 crores on the 44th day and Rs 1.80 crores on the 45th day at the box office. As per early estimates, the collections maintained well on 7th Monday (46th Day) with Rs 54 lakhs, bringing the overall total to Rs 235.12 crores.
Gully Boy bounced back after it fell on its second Friday at the box office and continued the rhythm on second Sunday at the box office. The Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer minted Rs 3.90 crores on second Friday, Rs 7.05 crores on Saturday followed by 7.10 crores on second Sunday.
As per early estimates, the collections were good on 2nd Monday as it fell by around 30% compared to 2nd Friday with Rs 2.90 crores, bringing its 12 days total collection to Rs 121.25 crores. Gully Boy is directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani and has been released in 4101 screens worldwide (India: 3350 and Overseas: 751)
