The Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Kirti Kulhari starrer URI-The Surgical Strike held well on its 5th Wednesday while Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi was steady on its 3rd Wednesday at the box office.
URI The Surgical Strike
URI – The Surgical Strike kept on making its producers happy after a solid Rs 70.94 crores in first week, Rs 62.54 crores in second week, Rs 37.34 crores in third week and Rs 29.02 crores in fourth week. Despite the release of new films, the war drama has collected a good Rs 2.27 crores on its 29th day while the earnings went up to Rs 4.67 on the 30th Day. On Sunday (31st Day), the business of the action drama escalated to Rs 5.58 crores. On its 32nd Day, URI The Surgical Strike held well to Rs 1.70 crores while there was hardly any drop on 33rd Day with Rs 1.61 crores. The earnings were really good with Rs 1.52 crores on the 34th day, bringing the total to a staggering Rs 217.48 crores (as per early estimates).
Directed by Aditya Dhar, URI is estimated to be made on a budget of Rs 42 Crores all inclusive of prints and advertising cost (Production Cost: 35 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 7 Crore). The film is based on the 2016 Indian Army’s surgical strikes on Pakistan Administered Kashmir as a retaliation for the URI attack.
Manikarnika-The Queen Of Jhansi
The Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika has shown strong legs at the ticket window, bringing the first week collections to good Rs 61.15 crores. Despite new releases, the collections were good in second week with Rs 23.40 crores. em>Mannikarnika held well on its third Friday with Rs 1.25 crores. As per early estimates, the collections grew by almost 115% on third Saturday to Rs 2.65 crore. The collections further grew on Sunday minting a staggering Rs 3.25 crores.
Manikarnika suffered significant drop on its 3rd Monday at the ticket window with Rs 85 lakhs. However, the biopic drama on Rani laxmibai held its head high with Rs 75 lakhs. There was hardly any difference between the previous, collecting a solid Rs 70 lakhs on the 20th day, summing up the 19 days total to Rs 94 crores (Hindi + Tamil + Telugu).
Directed by Krish, Manikarnika will be able to make some money until Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy arrives in 2 days.
