Rohit Shetty’s Explanation On Why Ajay Devgn’s Cameo In Simmba Wasn’t Kept A Secret Makes All Sense!

Rohit Shetty recently revealed why Ajay Devgn’s cameo in Simmba starring Ranveer Singh wasn’t kept a secret as a part of their plan makes a lot of sense!

Ajay Devgn‘s cameo in Simmba directed by Rohit Shetty was highly appreciated and was shown in the trailer itself!

There was a lot of buzz around Ajay Devgn‘s much hyped cameo in the climax of Rohit Shetty‘s Simmba and it was also welcomed with both hands when they saw Ranveer Singh walking side by side with the original Singham of B-Town. Not to forget, Ajay’s cameo wasn’t kept as a secret but was exposed in the open way before when the film’s trailer was released. This also worked great for the film which has just surpassed the Rs 200 Crore figure at the box-office.

Calling the whole movie as still being Singham’s universe, Rohit Shetty explained by saying,  “It (Ajay Devgn’s cameo) was always there (in the trailer) because I wanted to prepare the audience that there’s Ajay in the film. Because, if you see the film, for the first time it has happened that a universe is been created. And it’s Ajay’s universe, it’s not Simmba universe. It’s Sigham’s universe, where Singham is the narrator,”

In Simmba, Ajay Devgn is the narrator of the film talking about Simmba’s adventures and he appears himself as Bajirao Singham from the Singham series in the climax scene and even saves the day for Ranveer Singh. Talking about why his cameo wasn’t kept as a secret, Shetty added,

“Earlier it was a different story when you didn’t have social media or mobile phones. Today, after the first show everybody knows what’s going to happen. So, there is no surprise, surprise kind of a thing. For our films especially, we wanted audience to know that this is Bajirao Singham’s universe where a kid is born.”

Wow! That does make a lot of sense. Simmba has already minted Rs 202 Crores in just 12 days and has become the 3rd highest grosser of 2018 after Padmaavat and Sanju.
