2018 is almost over and it has been a year of some really wonderful and out of the box performances for Bollywood. Let’s decode who might win big at the awards season this coming year.
Ranbir Kapoor For Sanju : Coming to the unimaginable talent which Ranbir Kapoor is, the prolific actor has out-shined and shattered all the perceptions and rules set for an actor with his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in Sanju which looks so believable and away from mimicry which will make you believe that he truly lived the character. RK has already won all the accolades, appreciations, best reviews and by all means, will take away all the Best Actor trophies home as well. Very few actors in Bollywood can do this and this kind of a performance comes once in a lifetime.
Ayushmann Khurrana For Andhadhun/Badhaai Ho : We saw two wonderfully crafted films this year with had that one actor who has had the best times at the movies this year, Ayushmann Khurrana. While Andhadhun was a stellar movie which had brilliance in crisp story and an out & out thriller, Badhaai Ho was more commercial and entertaining. Khurrana was indeed the star of both the. He left us impressed in the first few minutes itself. The actor was in his usual entertaining self and has gave heartfelt & honest performances.
Varun Dhawan In October : In a Shoojit Sircar classic, Varun Dhawan’s portrayal of Dan in October must be lauded as it’s so different from his other roles. It’s a guidebook for any coming of age actor! A brilliant answer to all who just labelled him as a commercial cinema actor. He has a good chance in winning the Best Actor award this year and we feel he might just win the one in the Critics category for sure.
Ranveer Singh In Padmaavat : Not many will argue that what Ranveer Singh did in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat could be done by any other actor of his generation. Singh has killed it, smashed it and owned it! Khilji will definitely be considered as one of the most iconic villainous characters that will give you goosebumps in times to come. He is deadly, ferocious, lecherous, scary and his acting prowess knows no limits. He makes us believe that if Alauddin Khilji was alive, it would have been like him. Well, just one doubt there! He might be nominated for the Best Actor In A Negative Role category and he might win the award for it.
Kartik Aaryan In Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety : Aaryan has been that one actor who has always been known for his unbelievable monologues, smooth acting chops, amazing boyish looks and commendable screen presence. He did the same with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which became the surprise package of the year where his Sonu act was endearing af. He has already won one Best actor award at the Masala awards held this month and we’re thinking he might win a few more. Fingers crossed!
