Akshay Kumar is working in the film Mission Mangal, which also has B-town actress like Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari!
The B-town actor Akshay Kumar has lately been trying to do films of different genre. From Pad Man to Gold and 2.0, he has shown us a variety of films this year. Now the actor is working on the film Mission Mangal, which talks about the contribution of the female scientists in the Mars Orbiter Mission.
The film stars actress like Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari as well as marks the B-town debut of the South Indiana actress Nithya Mene. With 5 women in the lead, does the actor feels insecure about his role?
When asked, he told DNA, “That script demands the women to be ahead of us. They are the real heroes of the mission. Mission Mangal is interesting and inspiring. I’ve no shame in doing a movie that is led by women. At this stage, I don’t have to think much about my screen time. Whenever people approach me, I just see if my role is making an impact. If it does, and I have dates, I do it.”

The actor added on saying, “I’m happy that these girls are not bothered about the fact that there are five female leads in the same film. That ‘main kyu karu’ attitude isn’t there. I don’t think five heroes will come together for a movie like this.”
Talking about his own role, Akshay clarified that it’s not a special appearance, but a full-fledged role. “So, it’s a six-hero film. We are currently shooting it and will release it on Independence Day,” the actor said.
