It will be clash of titans- John Abraham’s action drama Satyamev Jayate and Akshay Kumar’s sports biopic Gold, on Independence Day. Let us analyze which movie has chance to win crown at the box office
Directed by Milap Zaveri, Satyamev Jayate had an outstanding trailer with solid one-liners dialogues and good old action scenes. The promotion along with songs like Dilbar and Paniyon Sa are catering to the audience. Overall, Satyamev Jayate is targeting at the mass-dominated areas like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab. The main challenge will come from metro cities where Gold will strike during the same time. John Abraham is quite popular among masses and coming from the super success of Parmanu and as per our analysis, Satyamev Jayate should open between Rs 10-12 chores and there are chances that film might cross Rs 50 crores mark in its first 5 days weekend if the reviews are positive.
Akshay Kumar is probably at the best stage of his career and with Gold, he will put another success story to his filmography. Gold will mark the fifth release for Akshay Kumar on Independence Day after Rustom, Toilet Ek Prem Katha, Brothers and Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara. The trailer of Gold was met with a fabulous response and with huge star cast, soulful music and Independence Day 5-days weekend, Gold will strike gold at the box office. As per our analysis, we are expecting the sports biopic drama to open with Rs 20-22 crores as its target audience will be the metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Mysore, Chennai, and Pune. The Reema Kagti directed film will still face competition from Satyamev Jayate in the mass dominated areas. The first weekend collections should be around Rs 80-90 crores if the reviews are positive.
