Sushant Singh Rajput had played the lead role in the biopic made on the Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
One of the most successful biopics made in Bollywood was MS Dhoni: The Untold story, based on the life on the Indian star cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Also, it has been the most successful film of Sushant Singh Rajput’s career, who had played the lead in the biopic.
Now we hear that the sequel to the biopic is in the making with Sushant going to reprise his role. Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films is going to bankroll the project which is expected to go on the floors in the next year.
While the first instalment had ended with India’s win in the 2011 World Cup, the second instalment is believed to continue with Dhoni’s journey after the world cup. A source told Mid Day, “There is the [Dhoni-led Chennai’] thrilling win against Bangalore at the T20 [this year, that can be depicted in the film]. Apart from that, India’s steady run, up to the semi-finals, at the 2015 World Cup will find a place in the narrative.”
His personal life matters including the cricketer becoming father to a baby girl will also find a place in the sequel. Also, just like the first part, this time too the cricketer is going to be involved in the scripting process as the source said, “a fair share of involvement from Dhoni, particularly during the scripting process will be there.”
