Box Office: Alia Bhatt’s Raazi Had An Amazing Weekend, Becomes The Fifth Highest Opener Of The Year

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi has been doing extremely well at the box-office!

The spy thriller film Raazi has managed to attract the audience and hence the film did a superb business in its first weekend. Alia Bhatt’s strong performance and the good storyline has helped a lot in bringing in good numbers for the film.

The film was released on this Friday and managed to collect around Rs 7.53 crore on its opening day. With the film getting a good word of mouth, the figures increased on the rest of the weekend. While Saturday saw a business of Rs 11.30 crore, the film managed to collect around Rs 14.11 crore on Sunday. This made the film reach a nett total of Rs 32.94 crore after it opening weekend.

Informing about the film’s business, the trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted saying, “#Raazi has a FANTASTIC opening weekend… Alia’s star power + power-packed performances + strong content + solid word of mouth helped multiply numbers… Fri 7.53 cr, Sat 11.30 cr, Sun 14.11 cr. Total: ₹ 32.94 cr. India biz.”

With this, Alia Bhatt’s Raazi has also become the fifth highest opener of the year. The film comes in the list after Padmaavat, Baaghi 2, Raid and Pad Man. The business on Monday will make it clear how well Raazi is going to do on its weekdays.

Talking about the film, Raazi is based on Harinder Sikka’s novel Sehmat. It sees Alia’s character of the same name in three different shades- a daughter, a wife and a spy. The film has been directed by Meghna Gulzar. And also stars Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapoor, Soni Razdan and Amruta Khanvilkar.
