Shashank Khaitan Reveals Why He Recreated Tamma Tamma For Badrinath Ki Dulhania

Badrinath Ki Dulhania, directed by Shashank Khaitan is quite close to its release date. The film stars good-looking and talented Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles. The trailers and songs are really vibrant and looks promising. Varun and Alia are unstoppable when it comes to creating magic with their enchanting chemistry on the screen.

The music of the film is winning hearts too. People were excited to see the director recreating the iconic Tamma Tamma song for BKD. The song originally pictured on Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit from the film Thanedaar. This melody is still popular and superhit among the masses. So, the expectation range of audience from Shashank for Tamma Tamma again were high.

In an interview, Shashank Khaitan revealed why he recreated this fantastic melody. He said, “In this situation it was simple if I go to night club and hear any of the old songs playing 90s songs , I go berserk. That is what happens in our movie. These two characters go to a night club, 90s song plays and they love it, freak on it. Tt was as simple as that and the other thing is also sometimes I just want to take the liberty of including all of us in the same generation. We believe that Tamma Tamma, the classic has been heard by everybody. I interact with lots of 17 -18 years old today who heard Tamma Tamma for the first time. Because of this song they have not heard the original Tamma Tamma.”

He further adds, “Sometimes what happens is we believe for us it is such a big song such a integral part of growing up that we do not realise that the generation gap is increasing. We are talking about generations who are really really fast. I was talking to two of my assistants who is an intern of 17 -18 years old, and when we told him we are talking Tamma Tamma, he was blank. He had no idea which song is it. Then I was like dude I’m so happy that I’m taking Tamma Tamma because it is going to reach out to generation who has never heard the song and that’s an exercise we should do all the time figuring out what was relevant to us so many years back is it relevant to current generation. I mean it is a good thing west has been doing it for year.”

When Tamma Tamma again came out, it got a mixed response from the audience. Many were quite unhappy with the rap that was added in the song. Well, it is on the chartbusters now and Shashank Khaitan has achieved what he wanted to with this new version.

Let’s see if the film turns out to be better than his its first instalment Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania or not. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is releasing on March 10.
