There is always a lull before storm but when storm arrives, it is unstoppable. “Dangal” proved that there is no stopping back after “Befikre” flopped. Next “OK Jaanu” happened with same old Bollywood romance and flopped miserably. Now “Raees” has revived the box office collections and trade experts are pretty happy with the current collections.
“Raees” opened with a bang on Wednesday with a eye-popping Rs 20.42 crores. Due to the Republic Day holiday, the business of Shah Rukh Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer escalated by almost 30% minting Rs 26.30 crores. The action entertainer, which is based on the true story of a bootlegger in Gujarat, dipped by 50% to Rs 13.11 crores. Saturday the morning show had an occupancy of 40-50% with “Raees” performing the best in Mumbai, Gujarat and Kolkata. The noon shows picked up in Delhi NCR region to 55% occupancy with business showing positive trend in the evening and night shows. The end of the day collections came to Rs 15.61 crores bringing the overall collections to Rs 75.44.
Today, the morning show started with a bang with 55% occupancy in the morning show. The multiplexes are performing very well and the noon, evening and night shows are expected to be thunderous bringing an estimated collection close to Rs 20 crores and overall numbers to be Rs 95 crores.
