Both children of veteran actor Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Harshvardhan Kapoor, had similar fate at the box office. While Sonam Kapoor’s “Saawariya” was a huge blow, similar situation is being seen for her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor with “Mirzya” opening to disaster response.
The debut movie of Harshvardan Kapoor and Saimiya Kher, “Mirzya”, was welcomed with poor reviews. The adventure-love-drama could not pick up in the evening and night shows on its first day collecting Rs 2.20 crores. On second day, there was a slight drop in the business earning Rs 2.10 crores. The business remained same on Sunday as compared to Friday Rs 2.20 crores bringing the total collections to Rs 6.50 crores. The budget of “Mirzya” is Rs 35 crores ( Production Cost – Rs 20 crores + Rs 15 crores in Printing & Advertising).
As all the new releases of this week – “Mirzya”, “Tutak Tutak Tutiya” and ” “MSG – The Warrior Lion Heart” had a terrible opening, “M.S.Dhoni : The Untold Story” remained the first choice of the audience.
