The Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer “OK Jaanu” could not show much growth on its second day box office which is a troubling sign as the trade was expecting the business to escalate on its second day at the ticket window.
1st Friday BO : OK Jaanu Gets OK opening
“OK Jaanu”, which is a remake of Mani Ratnam’s Tamil hit “OK Kanmani”, opened below expectations as per trade estimate. With likable pairing of Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, soulful music by A.R.Rahman, “OK Jaanu” opened to around 25% opening occupancy in the morning show. The romantic drama opened well in the multiplexes of Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore. The business did not escalate in the evening and night show as expected with first day collection settling to Rs 4.08 crores.
However, the collections improved slightly by 5% on its second day as compared to Friday minting Rs 4.90. This brings the total collections to Rs 8.98 crores. In order for “OK Jaanu” to perform well in its second weekend, the business on Sunday is key to its success as “XXX: Return Of Xander Cage” has done well on Saturday along with “Dangal” which has given a surprise collections.
