Despite the government restriction on key places in India and rising COVID-19 cases, South Indian films – Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan and Karnan starring Dhanush hit the bulll’s eye at the box office with stellar results.

A remake of Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari starrer Pink, which earned accolades for its strong message, the Telugu remake Vakeel Saab starring the superstar Pawan Kalyan roared at the box office with stupendous performance. The hard-hitting drama opened to a bumper response in the morning shows in Andhra Pradesh where still 100% occupancy is allowed. The film was expected to open around Rs 30 crore but as per early estimates it exceeded the expectations and opened to around Rs 35 crore and might beat the Tamil film Master which collected Rs 34.80 crore on its first day.
Vakeel Saab earned Rs 23 crore alone in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region. This film is directed by Venu Sree Raam and produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor.
On the other hand, the recently awarded Dhanush kept his fans happy as his latest release, Karnan, opened to a thunderous response at the box office.
Directed by Mari Selvaraj and produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu under the banner of V Creations. Karnan opened to around 60-70% occupancy in the morning shows but gathered momentum to fetch around Rs 11 crore on its first day at the box office.
