Shahid Kapoor Criticizes Bollywood 'Camps', Advocates for Inclusivity in Industry

In a candid interview on Neha Dhupia's show "No Filter Neha," actor Shahid Kapoor slammed the prevalent 'camp culture' in Bollywood, highlighting the challenges faced by outsiders in the industry. Kapoor expressed his dislike for the trend, emphasizing the importance of allowing individuals to collaborate freely without discrimination.

Reflecting on his own experiences as an outsider, Kapoor shared instances of being treated differently due to his Delhi accent when he first arrived in Mumbai. Despite facing rejection, he eventually found acceptance in the industry, likening it to a school where outsiders are not easily welcomed.

Kapoor emphasized the need for inclusivity, stating, "I feel that people who want to creatively collaborate with each other, should. People are comfortable with each other, should. But that doesn’t mean you diss other people or put other people down or you close the doors to other people."

The actor, who has been in Bollywood for over two decades, expressed his firm stance against bullying, stating that he would stand up to bullies. He concluded by asserting his belief in inclusivity and collaboration, urging the industry to embrace newcomers and outsiders.

Shahid Kapoor's candid remarks shed light on the challenges faced by those outside the industry's inner circles, emphasizing the need for a more inclusive and welcoming environment in Bollywood.
