There were four significant films – Kajol starrer Helicopter Ela, Govinda and Varun Sharma starrer FryDay, horror flick Tumbbad and Bhatt’s produced Jalebi which released today. Let us see which film will take best opening at the box office.
After the success of Rani Mukherjee starrer Mardani, Pradeep Sarkar returns to a warm comedy drama, based on single mother story. Kajol leads the pack who still has good fan following. As per our analysis, Helicopter Eela had the best opening among the four film with an occupancy of just 5-10% and might open with Rs 1-2 crores and will completely depend upon word-of-mouth reviews which is not good till now.
Varun Sharma has made his name from the Fukrey series but he still needs to establish his credibility beyond this. Govinda, on other hand, is looking for a desperate hit. Though the trailer of FryDay was unimpressive, the songs are good and the chemistry between Govinda and Varun Sharma looks nice. As per our study, FryDay opened to an occupancy of 0-5% in the morning shows might open lesser than Rs 1 crores. Reviews are not good either for this comedy affair.
The horror flick Tumbbad had an amazing and visually appealing trailer. The early buzz has been positive and the curiosity to watch the film is good. This might turn out to be the surprise of the week and can open to Rs 1 crore.
Produced under Mahesh Bhatt and Vishesh Films, Jalebi is a romantic drama starring Rhea Chakrabarty and Varun Mitra. While the trailer was eye-catching but reviews are average, Jalebi might open lesser than Rs 50 lakhs.
