There were three significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Ajay Devgan and Kajol starrer Dil Kya Kare, Govinda and Urmila Matondkar starrer Hum Tum Pe Parte Hain and Emraan Hashmi and Diya Mirza starrer Tumsa Nahi Dekha were released. Let us check how the films fared at the box office.
Dil Kya Kare(1999)
Coming off from the success of hard-hitting Mrityudand, Prakash Jha experimented with Ajay Devgan, Kajol and Mahima Chaudhry starrer Dil Kya Kare. The melodrama struggled to find the audience with its slow pace and lame screenplay. Even the music by Jatin-Lalit could not help the film from failing at the box office.
Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain (1999)
Starring Govinda and Urmila Matondkar, Hum Tum Pe Marte Hain was a romantic drama which clashed with Dil Kya Kare on the same day. The music by Uttam Singh was delightful but the bad performances, weak plot and poor direction did not excited the audience who gave a thumbs down to the film.
Tumsa Nahi Dekha (2004)
Emraan Hashmi was on high demand after the super success of Murder and so was Diya Mirza who became the heart-throb of the nation after Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. Unfortunately, the unusual jodi did not spark any chemistry in the film. Even the songs were a big disappointment. As a result, the film was disaster at the box office.
