The new releases Manmarziyan and Mitron did not deter Stree, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, from touching the 100 crores milestone on its third Saturday at the box office.
Running at 1770 screens, Stree had a fantastic first week collection with Rs 60.39 crores. The horror comedy held well on second Friday with Rs 4.39 chores despite four films releasing. The collections on Saturday grew to massive Rs 7.63 crores. The earnings went straight up on Sunday bringing in a solid numbers of Rs 9.88 crores and ending the second weekend collection to Rs 21.90 crores. Despite national strike called out Monday, Stree continued to dominate even on weekdays and minted electrifying Rs 3.31 crores. Surprisingly, Stree remained stable on Tuesday with Rs 3.22 crores while the collections dipped slightly on Wednesday with Rs 2.95 while Thursday earnings went up to Rs 3.76 crores. The collection dropped on third Friday due to the release of Manmarziyaan and Mitron but still managed to earn Rs 2.14 crores. The horror comedy grew well on its third Saturday to Rs 3.76 crores bringing an overall collections to jaw-dropping Rs 101.43 crores.
The trend of Stree is similar to Raazi and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and has become the 9th movie to enter the 100 crores club in 2018 for Bollywood. Stree released on 31st August, 2018 alongside Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se which tanked at the box office.
