Dhadak is holding very well on the weekdays which proves that audience have shown their love towards the romantic drama. The tragic love story is simply unstoppable and cemented its status at the ticket window.
With a solid first weekend collection of Rs 33.67 crores, Dhadak held well on its first Monday with a drop of just 38% minting Rs 5.52 crores. A remake of a Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, Dhadak dropped by few inches on Tuesday and earned Rs 4.76 crores. The collections on its first Wednesday were steady in the range of Rs 3.75 – 4.25 chores bringing the overall total to Rs 46.85-47.25 crores. Dhadak will touch the 50 crores milestone by end of its first week and also break the first week record held by Karan Johar directed and produced, Student Of The Year, to become the best opening week grosser. Aggressive promotion, the word-of-mouth reviews from both domestic and international audience and less competition from other films is helping to add more revenues to the overall collections.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar, who earlier made blockbusters like “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” and “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania“, Dhadak has opened on 2791 screens worldwide (India 2235, Overseas-556). “Dhadak” carries a budget of Rs 40 crores (Production Budget – Rs 30 crores + Printing & Advertising – Rs 10 crores) which has already been achieved. Dhadak will face some tough time from tomorrow onward as the highly anticipated Tom Cruise starrer Mission Impossible : Fallout is releasing.
