Rhea Pillai, who was Sanjay Dutt’s second wife is pretty miffed about the fact that she wasn’t shown throughout the biopic, a single time. On a whole, Sanju didn’t focus on Sanjay Dutt’s marriage or lovers much anyway, more connected to the other controversial sides of his career and life.
However, it is quite a bit of a surprise that other than Maanyata, none of the first two wives were even mentioned throughout the film. Right from Sanju’s first wife, Richa Sharma, whom he married in 1987. After their divorce, Sanjay later tied a knot with model Rhea Pillai in the year 1998.
Sanjay and Rhea too separated in 2005, which is how Maanayata came into Dutt’s life in 2008. However, while Maanyata was played by Dia Mirza in Sanju, the other two were completely out of the whole script.
Quoting a news portal, it was revealed why Rhea Pillai was so upset about not being part of the movie. ”Rhea played a pivotal role in Sanju’s life and was there for him during the 1993 Blast Case and she was shocked after watching the film that her role has not been in the film Sanju.”
According to a leading daily’s reports, Rhea’s first metting with Sanjay Dutt happened at his lawyer, Mahesh Jethmalani’s office, while he was out on bail. She was a spiritually inclined person who worked as an instructor for Art of Living. Even in Usmaan’s book, Rhea Pillai has been mentioned as the rock of support for the ‘Rocky’ actor throughout the tough times.
Well, that must have definitely left quite a shock on Rhea Pillai!
Meanwhile, ‘Sanju’ has emerged as the biggest opener of 2018 and is being loved by audience and critics alike. It has the potential to out-run Padmaavat in being the blockbuster of 2018!
