Vidhu Vinod Chopra has been working on film based on the Kashmiri Pandits, whose title and cast has finally been revealed!
One of the most ambitious projects of the director-producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra is his film based on the Kashmiri Pandits. He has been working on it for a long time now, along with the writer Rahul Pandita. It was finally in March this year that the film went on the floors. But not much had been revealed by the makers about the film.
Now according to the reports, Chopra’s film is going to have many local actors like Zameer Ashai, Shahid Gulfam and Imran. A report on Peeping Moon states that RJ Nasar Khan and Sadia are going to play the leads in this romantic story. While Khan is famous for his show Naughty Nights on Red FM 93.5 in Bhopal, Sadia hails from Bhaderwah, Jammu and Kashmir. She will be essaying the role of a Hindu girl in the film.
Also, there were rumours about the film being titled as ‘Love Letters From Kashmir’. But that is not true. A source informed the portal, “It’s been titled Shikara which basically means a houseboat in Kashmir. The shooting is gearing towards its end and only a few days portions are left which will be shot in Mumbai later this month.”
Till now the film has been entirely shot in Kashmir as the source said, “They shot it in areas like Shivpora, Patnitop, Ware House and also in Nagrota at the biggest migrant camps for Kashmiri Pandits where around 4200 families live.”
