Here Is Why Sridevi’s Ashes Got Immersed In Rameshwaram First, Haridwar Later

We all saw photos of filmmaker Boney Kapoor immersing the ashes of her beloved wife and late actress Sridevi in parts. Firstly, he went to Rameshwaram where he immersed a part of the & was accompanied by daughters Janhvi Kapoor Khushi Kapoor. A week later, he was accompanied by brother Anil Kapoor and designer Manish Malhotra who happens to be a close friend of the departed actress at Haridwar for the other half of the ashes to be immersed in the Ganga river. It has led to may speculations about why it was done twice and here is the explanation for it.


As per our sources, in 1993, Sridevi had made a commitment to come back to Haridwar after finishing the shoot of a film which she was doing back then, Fulfilling her wish, Boney decided to execute the second half of the proceedings there in Haridwar and was seen with brother Anil Kapoor and designer Manish Malhotra.

As per the sources, Kapoor was seen breaking down during the pooja which was carried out by the family priests. Also present were Shiv Kumar Paliwal, Manish Jaiswal, Uttarakhand Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal and Haridwar Mayor Manoj Garg with Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh apart from family members.

A week before, the ashes were immersed in Rameshwaram where daughters Janhvi and Khushi were seen together with father Boney Kapoor. It was indeed a difficult time for the family members and it is a loss which can never be fulfilled.
